The CGM Group is the Caribbean’s first and largest regional insurance intermediary, with combined premiums handled of over US$80 million. Established in 2004. The CGM Group was formed by a merger between International Insurance Brokers (IIB), Jamaica and CGM Insurance Brokers Limited, Barbados . IIB also operated an internationally recognized reinsurance broking division, IIB Reinsurance Brokers Limited which started some 10 year ago and is now part of this regional Group with offices in Jamaica and Barbados. In 2005 the Group acquired CGM Insurance Brokers (St Vincent) Limited International Insurance Brokers was formed in 1971 as a joint venture between Industrial Commercial Developments Limited (ICD) and Hogg Robinson Limited (now Aon) to offer broking services to domestic, commercial and industrial clients in Jamaica. It has evolved today to be the market leader for commercial broking in Jamaica. CGM Insurance Brokers (Barbados) Limited has been operating in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean for over 25 years. Led by William Tomlin the operation is considered to be one of the leading insurance brokers in the region. In early 2006, the merged companies, in an effort to establish a common brand across the region, changed the name of the Jamaican company to CGM Insurance Brokers Jamaica Limited and now trade regionally wide as The CGM Group under the well-known CGM logo. Caribbean Risk Managers Limited (CaribRM), an independent company within the CGM Group, will handle the complex areas of risk modelling and data management, vulnerability analysis and alternative mechanisms of risk transfer. |
